The Molloy College Career Center is committed to ensuring student and alumni success. The Center’s dedicated team and engaging programs are available to guide students as they develop their career readiness skills and explore options.

The staff at the Center work to connect talented Molloy students to a vast network of local and regional employer partners and a network of more than 25,000 alumni. Leadership development and mentoring programs allow students to achieve their goals by honing the professional competencies that employers and graduate schools seek.

The Career Center offers students a wide range of career and leadership-related education and development including:

  • Career Advising
  • Resume and Cover Letter Development
  • Mock Interviews
  • Job-Readiness Skill Training
  • Internships
  • Leadership Development Programs
  • Professional Development Opportunities

“We love working with students and helping them with their career needs,” said Rebecca Martinez, Assistant Director, Career Center. “There is a sense of accomplishment when they leave an appointment with us feeling ecstatic that they came in. They are thrilled we helped them develop a professional resume and cover letter, and they feel ready to conquer the world.”

Handshake is Molloy’s hub for all aspects from college to career – internships, part-time jobs, full-time jobs, volunteer opportunities and Career Center events and appointments! This platform allows students to create individualized profiles so that prospective employers may reach out to potential candidates. Students can sign up at support.joinhandshake.com.

“The Career Center utilizes the Handshake program which is completely free to students,” said senior nursing major Joseph Calvo. “With Handshake, I can constantly see the latest job listings tailored to my interests. When I saw jobs that had interested me, I simply set up an appointment with a representative from the Center through Handshake itself. They helped me tailor my resume and cover letter to each specific job and provided me with mock interview opportunities to ensure I was prepared.”

“The Center also offers several workshops throughout the year to help you learn about the working world,” continued Calvo. “From free professional LinkedIn headshot events to presentations on topics like investing and managing credit, the center is never short on learning opportunities. I would 100% recommend all Molloy students and alumni visit the Career Center, even if it is just following their Instagram account where they are always posting the latest job listings and workshop events.”

“I made use of the Molloy College Career Center several times throughout my four years here,” said senior and Business Management major, John J. Armioia. “However, the most significant help I received was when they helped me find an internship with Madison Square Garden Sports Corp.  I learned about the internship at MSG through the Career Center Instagram: @molloycareercenter. After expressing my interest in working in sports I was encouraged to apply through Handshake – but first, they assisted me in ensuring that my resume was up-to-date and that my cover letter was well-written. When I heard back for my first and second round of interviews, the Career Center ran me through some mock interviews to ensure that I was well prepared. Sure enough, I was and I scored the internship with MSG as a Service and Retention Student Associate.”

“Students are excited to come back and inform us if they found job postings through our Instagram and Handshake, applied, and got the position,” said Cristen D’Accordo, Director, Career Center.  “It is so exciting to celebrate their successes with them, whether it be a part-time or full-time position. Recently, we had a senior come in who has worked with the Career Center since she was a freshman. She got her resume updated annually, had a mock interview session before her job interview, and got the position! She immediately came in to let us know and thank us.”

“Based on my experiences with the Career Center, I would 110% recommend it to Molloy students and alumni” said Armioia. “They helped me score an internship in an area that I would love to work in, and will hopefully land a full-time role in following my graduation.
